How to Backup iPhone Photo to Google Drive Automatically

iCloud is not your only choice for backup your iPhone photo. Alternatively, you can backup iPhone photo to Google Drive because of its large free storage space and extensibility. Google has integrated with Google apps such as Docs, Google Plus, and Gmail. What’s more, you can add more functionality by install some extensions in Google Drive.

iCloud only provides 5GB of free space for each iCloud account. It may not be enough to backup data on one iPhone, not to mention those who have more than one iOS devices. Therefore, to free up some iCloud storage space, backup iPhone photo to Google Drive is a great choice. 

How to Backup iPhone Photos to Google Drive

You can manually upload photos to Google Drive from your iPhone or set up an Auto Backup to automatically backup photos to Google Drive.

You can refer to the steps below to set up Auto Backup to backup photos on iPhone to Google Drive.

1. Go to App Store and then download the Google Drive app for iOS on your iPhone. Run this app and log into Google Drive.

2. Within the Google Drive app for iOS, tap Menu and select Settings.

3. Tap on Photos.

4. Under Photos, tap the toggle switch to turn on Auto Backup.

You can turn on Full size backups if you want photos uploaded to Google Drive without losing quality. In that case, your Google Drive may run out of storage space as the program keep backing up photos to Google Drive.

Once your Google Drive is full, then Full size backups will automatically get turned off. In that case, your newly added photos will also be backed up to Google Drive but the photos are resized. If you do not mind the photo quality lost in resizing, then you can backup unlimited photos to Google Drive.

Online storage backup is considered a good way to backup your photos, but you can never be more careful about your data. As a saying goes “don’t put all eggs in one basket”, it is recommended to backup your iPhone photos to your computer hard drive besides Google drive.

How to Backup iPhone Photos to a Computer

In order to backup your photos conveniently and efficiently, you can use an iPhone backup and data transfer tool, IOTransfer. With it, you can easily sync your photos between iPhone and your PC. Let ’s see how it work.
