Convert YouTube to GIF on iPhone with Siri Shortcuts
As you probably know, there are some free or paid apps from AppStore that can convert video to GIF. What you may not know is that Shortcuts app, free app provided by Apple, can also do this.
Shortcuts is the updated version of Workflow that can automate your tasks on iPhone and add to Siri. I have created a shortcut to convert YouTube video to GIF. Let’s see how it works.
Step 1. Open your YouTube app or open YouTube website from your web browser. Copy the video link.
Step 2. Download and install the Shortcuts app on iOS 12 from AppStore. If you are using iOS 11 or previous version, get the Workflow app instead.
Step 3. Get this shortcut and run it. Be aware you should use Safari or Firefox to open this shortcut link.
Step 4. Wait for the shortcut to proceed. Then you will be prompted with 3 options, Save as GIF, Save Video to Camera Roll, or Save Audio only. Just select Save as GIF to continue.
Step 5. Trim the video on your iPhone to select part of the video to convert to GIF. If you want to convert the entire video to GIF, you can skip this step.
Step 6. Preview this GIF and Save it to Camera Roll or Cloud Drive.
If you want to change the GIF playback speed, you can open this Shortcut to edit it. if needed, you can also run this shortcut from Widget. If you add this to Siri, you can also activate this Shortcut by a Siri voice command.
