[WebEx] How to Convert WRF to MP4 for A Better Compatibility

Here is a question. How can we play WRF recordings on third-party platforms when this format has such a bad compatibility? In this article, I will show how to convert WRF to MP4 for this format can be played on all devices and players.

What Is WRF

WRF is the file format by Cisco’s WebEx recorder – a good and easy-to-use screen capture program for demonstration and conferences.

A WRF file – like other video formats – contain both video and audio data but can only be played in WebEx Player and is not playable on other devices like iPhone and iPad and media players like Windows Media Player and VLC.

To make videos in WRF more compatible, what you need to do is to convert WRF to MP4 or other formats like AVI and MOV.

If you don’t know what to do next, don’t worry, since in the following contents, I will provide you with an effective tool to get it done.

Part 1 Convert WRF to WMV

Before you can convert WRF to MP4, you need to convert it to WMV first with WebEx Recording Editor. Much third-party software or video converters which claim to be able to directly convert WRF to MP4 is fake because the format is exclusive.

Now, let’s learn how to convert WRF to WMV with WebEx Recording Editor step by step.

1.       Install and launch WebEx Recording Editor on your PC.

2.       Click on “File” on the upper left.

3.       Select “Open” and import the WRF file you want to convert.

4.       Click on “Open” again and select “Export to”.

5.       You will be asked to preset a name and an output path.

6.       Then, you can select WMV as the output format. Meanwhile, you can also customize the bit rate and the key frame.

7.       Click on “Ok” to start the video conversion process.

Part 2 Convert WRF to MP4 or Other Formats with the Best Third-party Video Converter

After converting WRF to WMV with WebEx Recording Editor, you can choose to convert the video file to other formats like MP4 and AVI which have a better compatibility with your devices.

Since WebEx Recording Editor doesn’t give you many options for video conversion, it’s time to resort to some third-party software.

Here, I recommend IOTransfer – powerful and multifunctional iPhone transfer software – to finish the video conversion.

This software can not only enable you to transfer iOS data between different iDevices and computers but also, it allows you to convert videos to more than 20 formats including MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, and MP3. Meanwhile, video download, GIF making, and Instagram photo download are also available features in this software.
