It is not difficult at all to use Apple Pay with Face ID on iPhone X. Truth be told, before the most advanced Apple smartphone emerged, I was really skeptical about the accuracy and safety of facial recognition. However, those doubts disappeared when I learnt and experienced everything about Face ID.

In case you don't know, it is the TrueDepth camera on the iPhone X that enables Face ID. It establishes a flawless and in-depth mapping of your face by projecting and analyzing more than 30,000 invisible dots. According to Apple, there is 1 in 50,000 chances that another person's fingerprint will unlock Touch ID, whereas the chance that someone else’s face will match the Face ID is 1 in 1,000,000. To cut to the chase, let me teach you how you can pay on iPhone using Apple Pay with Face ID.

How to use Apple Pay on iPhone X

You can make a valid purchase with Apple Pay, iTunes Store, iBooks Store, App Store, in apps, in store and on websites using Face ID.

Before this, you should ensure that the Apple Pay on your device is ready for use by setting it up. Go to Settings App--click on Wallet & Apple Pay--select Add Credit/Debit card and follow the instructions that come up.

Above all else, open Settings and go to Face ID & Passcode to ensure that the Apple Pay on your device is enabled.

l Make a Purchase with Apple Pay using Face ID in Store

Step 1: Click the side button twice to use your default card. You would still follow this process to select another card if there's a different card you want to use.

Step 2: To authenticate, stare at your iPhone.

Next thing is to keep your device close to the contactless reader.

Step 3: A checkmark will appear on the screen to show you're done--- a confirmation that your payment was successful.

l Make a Purchase on iPhone X from a Website in Safari or within an App Using Face ID

Step 1: Let's assume this is a website in Safari or an app that you want to make a purchase from, there will be a Buy link from which you can then click Apple Pay button as your method of payment.

Step 2: Confirm the information for your payment.

Note: beside your card is a forward button, tap this to select a preferred option if you want to pay with a different card.

Step 3: Click the side button twice.

Step 4: Stare at your phone.

Wait for the Done and checkmark to appear.

l Use Face ID in iBook Store, App Store, and iTunes Store on iPhone X

Step 1: Open Settings app on your device to make purchase from iBook Store, App Store or iTunes store using Face ID.

Step 2: Select Face ID & Passcode.

Step 3: If the switch beside iTunes & App store is not on, turn it on.

Then go and buy the content you want to from the iBooks Store, App Store or iTunes store by tapping on the content.

Step 4: When the payment prompt pops out, click the side button twice.

Step 5: Glance at your device.
