Step 1: Launch the email application on your iPhone

Step 2: Select your inbox in which you want to delete its contents

Step 3: Hit the edit button that is located at the top right corner of your screen

Step 4: There are three options from which you can choose from, they are;

Mark all

Move

Trash all, select the trash all option.

Step 5: A pop-up prompt would appear asking you if you wish to delete all the email content from your iPhone. Click yes to proceed.

How to clear your email contents from your iPhone running on iOS prior to iOS 9

It was a little more difficult to clear your email contents on devices prior to iOS 9. It required you scanning through your iPhone for days before you could actually figure out how to go about it. However, you can clear your email content from your iPhone running on iOS prior to iOS 9 by using the following steps;

Step 1: Launch the email application on your iPhone

Step 2: Hit the edit button that is located at the top right corner of your screen.

Step 3: Hit the Mark All option and then hit the Mark All as Read option. This closes the edit window.

Step 4: Hit the edit button again and choose the first message from your list of emails

Step 5: Hit and hold the move button, and at the same time uncheck the first email you selected in the previous step and then remove your finger from the move button. It would take a few seconds for the move screen with several options to appear on your screen.

Step 6: Choose the trash icon and all your email content would be cleared to the trash folder. If you have selected a lot of emails to delete, this might take a while to complete, so wait for the action complete message to appear to indicate all delete has been successful.
