It isn't rocket science to transfer data and files from your old iPhone to your new iPhone X device. This is because Apple has made several options available for file transfer from one phone to another. In this article I would be showing you how to transfer content from your old phone to your new iPhone X in four different parts.

l  Transferring your old sim card to your new phone / inserting a new SIM card.

Ÿ   The first step is to ensure your old iPhone is switched off.

Ÿ   Remove the SIM card from the device

Ÿ   Ensure your iPhone X is switched off.

Ÿ   Located on the right side of the device, is the SIM card tray, take it out.

Ÿ   Make use of the SIM eject tool (or paperclip) to eject the tray by inserting it into the provided slot.

Ÿ   Fix the SIM card into the SIM card tray of your iPhone X.

Ÿ   Insert the SIM card tray.

l  Setting up your iPhone X

Setting up your iPhone X for first time use can be accomplished using the following steps

Ÿ   First of all turn on your iPhone X after inserting your sim card; this is done by pressing and holding the side button on your iPhone X

Ÿ   Next step is to unlock your iPhone X with the use of the Home button

Ÿ   Select your preferred language, country/region

Ÿ   Manually set up your iPhone using the Quick Start feature while following the online instructions.

Ÿ   Activate your iPhone online by using Wi-Fi network or cellular data provided by your mobile network.

Ÿ   The next step would be to set up Touch ID, this allows you to unlock your phone using your fingerprint. You can decide to setup now or later depending on your preferences.

Ÿ   Finally you would be required to set a passcode for on your iPhone X to protect the Data on your phone, this would enable you use features like Touch ID and Apple Pay.

l  Transferring contents to your iPhone X with cloud back up

You would first of all be required to have a backup of your files on your old iPhone, you can do this by going to settings App – Click on your Apple ID profile – Select iCloud – Select iCloud Backup – Click on back up now. (This is for iOS 10 and above).

The next step would be to restore backup data. This is done by going to settings on your iPhone X Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings > Erase iPhone > Set up your iPhone again > Select Restore from iCloud > Select the backup you just created.

l  Restoring your iPhone X from iTunes back up

Create a backup of your old iPhone, this is done using the following steps, Open iTunes > Connect your old iPhone to the computer > Click Device tab > Click Summary > Click This Computer in Backups column > Click Back Up Now

The next step would be to restore your new iPhone from the backup you just created; this is achieved by connecting your iPhone 8/X/7 to computer > Open iTunes if it doesn't open automatically.
