What do you do when your iPhone contacts get lost due to factory reset by mistake or update error? You can transfer contacts from computer to your iPhone if you have iPhone contacts backup saved on your computer.
If you have your contacts backed up in iCloud, you can sync contacts to iPhone using iCloud. If iCloud is not available, you can import Outlook contacts to iPhone, which is quite helpful when you switch from Android phone to an iPhone.
How to transfer contacts from PC to iPhone
In order to transfer contacts to your new iPhone efficiently, you can use a tool IOTransfer that allows you to transfer contacts and other data to iPhone/iPad/iPod with a few clicks.
You can follow the steps below to transfer contacts from computer to iPhone.
1. Download and install IOTransfer on your computer.
2. Connect your iPhone X/8/7/6 to your PC via lighting USB cable, and then launch IOTransfer.
3. If you do not have .ctt formatted contacts list saved on your computer, you can select contacts and click Transfer to PC to transfer contacts from iPhone to PC or from another iPhone in case of losing them.
4. Click on Manage tab and click on Contacts from the left menu.
5. Click on Import and browse your computer to select the contact list (.ctt format) you saved on your PC.
Almost instantly, your contacts are transferred to your iPhone and the program will pop up a window to show you how many contacts have been transferred to your iPhone.
If the contact list was saved in a format that cannot directly import to your iPhone, you can also copy and paste contacts to your iPhone right from your PC. To do that, you can simply click the “+New” button under Manage tab.
Then you can add contact information to the contact form. After you click on the Save button, the new contact is saved on your iPhone.
If you have another iPhone, you can use the Import and Export feature to transfer contacts from iPhone to another.
Besides synchronizing contacts, IOTrasnfer, iPhone/iPad manager, can also help you transfer media data to your iOS device, free up space on iPhone, and download videos on iPhone for offline watching.
If your contacts get lost but you do not have a backup of your iPhone contacts, you can also transfer contacts from other sources like Outlook contacts. To do that, you can use iTunes to sync contacts with Outlook. Once the sync task in setup, the sync task will begin every time you connect your iPhone to your PC.
You can refer to the following steps to get it done.
1. Connect your iPhone/iPad/iPod to your computer via USB. iTunes will open automatically if you have it installed. If not, you need to install iTunes first.
2. At the left side of the iTunes window, click on your iOS device and select Info.
3. Under Contacts, click on the checkbox Sync contacts with, and then select Outlook.
4. You can select All contacts to transfer all contacts from Outlook to your iPhone or select some of the contact groups by clicking Selected groups.
5. After select contacts that need transferring, click Apply to apply this task.
With these two methods, you can easily transfer contacts from computer to iPhone when your contacts get lost or you buy a new iPhone. Though it is easy to transfer contacts to your iPhone from your PC or other location, you should also take extra protection about your contacts information and other data.
Therefore, it is highly recommended to export your iPhone contacts to your computer hard drive or other location in case of unexpected issues. Besides contacts, you can also use transfer all data to your PC using Transfer to PC feature in IOTransfer.
