To save videos for offline watching on iPad/iPhone is quite necessary for those who like to watch videos on portable devices like iPhone or iPad because not every place has an internet. For example, on an airplane, you are not allowed to use the cellular or WiFI connection.

How do you watch YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Facebook videos and other streaming services without internet connection? Fortunately, there are a few workarounds. This article will show you three ways to download videos from most of the websites, if not all, to your iOS devices.

Method 1: Directly Download Videos to iPhone/iPad without Using iTunes

IOTransfer is video downloader and iPhone/iPad manager software. When downloading videos, it allows you to save videos to the connected iPhone or iPad without iTunes, so it is super convenient compared to other tools.

You can refer to the following steps to save videos on your iOS devices for offline view.

The program does not restrict the downloading speed, so the video should be saved on your iPhone or iPad In a short time. Then you can watch the YouTube video offline with the TV app on your iOS device.

Besides YouTube videos, you can also use it to download videos on Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc. In addition, IOTransfer comes with more features like clean up your iPhone/iPad, transfer iPhone data, etc. Download IOTransfer to save any videos to your iPhone or iPad for offline watching.

Besides watching Youtube videos offline on your iPhone/iPad, you may also want to edit the video using iMovie. As you probably know, iMove can only select videos from Camera Roll or iCloud. Is there a way to save videos to iPhone/iPad Camera Roll?

Method 2: Download Videos to iPhone/iPad Camera Roll without PC

This method may take a few more steps, but it does not require a PC or Mac to complete. You just need to download a free application in Appstore. The following steps will show you how to download YouTube videos to your iPhone/iPad Camera Roll. You can refer to it to download videos from any other websites.

1. Copy the video link that you want to save on your mobile device.

2. Go to App Store and search for “documents 6”. Then select the Documents by Readdle from the results and start to install it.

New Method: Save Video on iPhone with Siri Shortcuts in iOS 12

I have saved the best solution for the last. You can actually save videos on iPhone from internet with an Apple app, Shortcuts. You can get it from AppStore for free. Shortcuts can help you automate many things.

There are some pre-made shortcuts that can help you download videos to your iPad or iPhone without Jailbreak. Here I recommend you use Media Grabber shortcut, which supports downloading videos from many websites including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and many other websites.

You can just copy the web page URL and go to the Shortcuts app to run the Media Grabber shortcut. If you want to download videos from app like YouTube, you can also tap the Share button and run the shortcut from Share Sheet.

All these methods work great when saving videos on iPhone/iPad for offline watching. if you have a computer by your side, then method 1 is faster and more convenient as it can transfer iPhone data in one click. If you want to download videos to Camera Roll, use method 2 or 3.
