Speeding up a video is a very common task in video editing. It also can be done on your mobile device. In This article, I will show you 2 ways to speed up video on iPhone using apps that developed by Apple.
Speed up Video Using iMovie
The first tool you may think about is iMovie. Surely, iMovie allows you to easily change the video playback speed on your iOS device. you can adjust the speed of the entire video project or a clip of that video.
You can refer to the steps below to speed up a video with iMovie.
Step 1. Create a New project and Tap + to add the video that you want to speed up in the project.
Step 2.tap on the video from the timeline to cut the video if needed.
Step 3. Tap on the clip that you want to speed up and tap the clock icon at the bottom left.
Step 4. Move the slider to adjust the speed. Swipe right (towards the hare) to simply speed up the video on iPhone.
As you can see from the screenshot, you can speed a video up to 2 times faster. By the way, you can also convert video to slow motion by swipe the slider left (towards the tortoise icon). You can go as slow as 1/8 of the normal speed.
If you want to speed up a video more than 2 times, then you can use the second method, which is also provided by Apple and free to use.
Speed up Video Using Siri Shortcuts
Siri Shortcuts is a new feature in iOS 12. You can use it to automate many things including changing video playback speed. You can simply grab this shortcut, Control Video Playback Speed, to speed up videos on your iPhone.
It allows you to select videos from Camera Roll and Cloud Drive. Let me show you how it works.
Step 1. Get this shortcut by open the link in Safari.
Step 2. Open the Shortcuts app and run this shortcut.
Step 3. Specify the playback speed. The default is 1.5 and you can change that to any number that suits you.
Step 4. Select video from Camera Roll or Files app based on your situation.
Step Select a location to save converted video.
If needed, you can share the video via Share Sheet from here. This Shortcut does not have limit on how many times you want to speed up the video.
Both methods allow you to speed up videos in Camera Roll, but you can also select videos from the TV app. If you also want that, you can move videos from the TV app to Camera Roll. In order to do that, you need an iPhone video manager tool.
Best iPhone Video Manager Tool
Many users have bad experience with iTunes on Windows because it is really slow. If you feel the same and want to change that, you can use iTunes alternative IOTransfer for managing files on your iOS device.
IOTransfer allows you to easily import and export files on iPhone to PC by dragging and dropping. Besides videos, you can manage photos, music, books (audio books), contacts, podcasts, and voice memos.
This program displays videos from the TV app in the Videos section, and videos from Camera Roll in the Photos section. You can easily select one and transfer it to another location.
Besides that, this program also supports Wi-Fi file transfer for iPhone, so you do not have to fetch your lightning cable in order to transfer video from PC to iPhone or back.
When you use the Wi-Fi transfer feature AirTrans, the program will automatically scan iOS devices connected to the same network, making it easy to build connection. You can also use your iOS device to scan the QR code to connect your PC over Wi-Fi quickly.
What’s more, it allows you to download videos from more than 100 websites including YouTube, Facebook, and Dailymotion to your PC or iPhone. If you do not like the file format of the downloaded video, you can use IOTransfer to convert video to another format. Many audio formats like MP3, M4A, and AAC are also supported.
