4 Ways to Fix Purchase of This Item Is Not Currently Available

iPhone constantly pops up a message “Purchase of this item is not currently available” when your restore iPhone from iCloud backup. Here are 4 working solutions.

After using iCloud to restore data on your iPhone, you may constantly get an error popped up saying “Purchase of this item is not currently available”. It is really annoying. Read on to find a quick fix for this problem.

iCloud Backup is a very good feature to have a copy of the information on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. When you switch to a new iPhone or iPhone data get lost, you can restore data from old iPhone to the new one.

Why Does My iPhone Say Purchase of This Item Is Not Currently Available?

Your iCloud backup includes information like app data, purchased music, movies, TV shows, books, etc. Some of the information may not be available right now. When your iPhone start to restore information that not available right now, you will get the error.

Quick solution – Manually Stop the Restore

Due to this error, the restore cannot complete and your iPhone will pop up this error again and again. Because it is still in the process of restoring, your device cannot be backed up anymore.

If you need to solve this problem quickly, you can force the restore process to stop. Before you try the step to stop iCloud restore, bear in mind that the data that hasn’t been restored will be lost.

Step 1. In the Settings app, tap on your name and select iCloud.

Step 2. Scroll down to select iCloud Backup.

Step 3. Tap on Stop Restoring iPhone and tap Stop when prompted with a confirm message.

If you are so lucky to have an available iTunes, you can also restore iPhone from backup.

Sign out of iCloud

Signing out of iCloud will stop the iCloud restore process and prevent the error from popping up again. As mentioned, apps and music are the common cause of this problem. You should also turn off iCloud Music Library if it is on and signs out of iTunes Store.

Identify Which Item(s) Not Available and Delete It

If you have a Mac or Hachintosh, then you can connect your iPhone to the Mac to find out which item that caused the error purchase of this item is not currently available.

Step 1. Download and install Xcode from App Store. Connect your iPhone to your Mac via the lighting cable.

Step 2. Add your iPhone to the Xcode.

Step 3. Open App Store on your iPhone and keep it running.

Step 4. Go to Xcode and you should see Log starting filling up at on the bottom of your screen.

Step 5. Click the export button in the bottom right corner of the dialog box.

Step 6. Open the exported file, and search for “download error”.

From the log file, you should see which item is causing iCloud Restore stuck. Usually, it is an app or music purchased from iTunes Store or Apple Music. Then you can simply delete the item from App store or iTunes Store to fix this problem.

Reset Your iPhone

If the above methods cannot fix the problem or not available in your situation, you may consider the reset all settings and content. This method will certainly fix the problem Purchase of this item is not currently available.

As it will restore your iPhone to factory default settings, which means all the content you saved on your iPhone will be removed permanently, you’d better back up or transfer critical data to your PC or other locations.
