1. go to Settings
2. open General > Restrictions
3. tap “Enable Restrictions”. You will be need to create (enter) a Restrictions passcode if you haven’t enabled Restrictions feature before.
4. scroll down, and tap “Websites”. There are 3 options: All Websites, Limit Adult Content and Specific Only.
5. To block a website, then tap “Limit Adult Content” and “Add a Website” in Never Allow section
6. enter the website address that you want to block on Safari. For example, we enter www.facebook.com, and click done.
7. open Safari, enter www.facebook.com, and you will see this website is blocked

1. open Spotlight Search and launch the Terminal
2. type “sudo pico /etc/hosts” and enter, you will be asked to enter the password to go on
3. once you enter the Terminal text program, create a new line to type the address
4. type 127.0.0.1 followed by the URL, eg: 127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com (each URL address should be in a separate line)
5. press Ctrl+O and Enter to save changes and exit the Terminal editor
Do not forget to flush the cache to make sure the settings can take effect. To flush DNS, type sudo dscacheutil –flushcache and Enter. If you want to disable the restrictions, follow the above steps and remove those URL.
How to Block a Website on Safari for Mac with Parental Controls
*Note that Parental Controls cannot apply to admin account, and you have to create another user account to use this feature to block a website on Safari.
1. go to System Preferences
2. choose Parental Controls
3. create a new user account or convert the current account to a parental control account
4. open the Parental Controls menu, choose Web > Try to limit access to adult websites > Customize…
5. click “+” under “Never allow these websites” and enter the site URL you want to block on Safari
