In the latest update, Apple reports that a problem with the WiFi connection of the iPhone could make the device susceptible to cyber hacking.
To fix iOS WiFi security issues, Apple has made available a security update which strengthens the iPhone's WiFi chip, and makes it impossible for hackers to access the phone when the WiFi is on and searching for an available network connection.
If not for this security update which fixes iOS WiFi bug, hackers could easily access the phones when the WiFi is on, take over the WiFi chip and crash the mobile device.
In a related development, Google recently released a security update which was meant to tackle this problem. This Broadpwn exploit caused serious cyber security problems on the Android platform, and affected many big wigs in the market including HTC and Samsung.
Apart from the Broadpwn exploit, the latest update that Apple released also solves 46 other problems on the iOS 10. These bugs include problems with Messages, Notifications, Contacts, and Safari. It also solves the issue of taking over devices with WebKit. In other to protect their devices from cyber criminals, and fix iOS WiFi issue, users of Apple products are advised to upgrade to iOS 10.3.
A security researcher at Exodus Intelligence, Nity Artenstein was the first person to discover this problem with iOS WiFi hacking, while Google Project Zero, Apple, and Independent researchers discovered the other key problems with iPhone and iPad devices.
Earlier this year, Apple issued a security update which tackled an arsenal of spying bugs that attacked the Vault 7 files. This was revealed by Wikileaks, and Apple fixed the problem promptly before it could be exploited.
To solve iPhone WiFi security issues, Apple advices users to always upgrade to the latest version of the iOS software. It is also recommended that users disable siri and turn off notifications when handset is locked, and also have a strong and unique password. To install the iOS 10.3.3, go to Settings on your iPhone, then click on General, and then Software Update. This update is available for iPhone 5 and above, 4th generation of iPad and above, and also 6th generation iPod Touch.
