Safari is an incredible web browser having some of the most advanced features and is the browser of choice for pretty much all of the Apple users with its remarkable speed and compatibility with other devices. Though there are not many issues with the iOS 9 and iOS 10 but some of them is eating quite loads of the productivity. One of the issues faced by users is that safari keeps crashing or safari not working.
Safari keeps crashing or freezing whenever you try to open a webpage. The issue has already been addressed by Apple but users have reported about Safari crashing during random use, page loading, when a new page or tab is opened or when Safari starts up.
Here are some potential tips for fixing this issue:
l Private Browsing Mode
In order to deal with this problem, you could browse on Safari in the private mode. In order to do so, open Safari and then tap on the overlapping box icon that is located on the bottom -right side of the screen. Now you will be able to see Private that is located on the bottom-left side of the screen. Tap on it so that you can enable private browsing. It is a temporary fix until Apple resolves it in the next update.
l Disable the Safari Suggestions
If you happen to be on the latest version of iOS 10 and still coming across the same problem of safari crashing, you are not alone. It is due to a strange bug on the Apple’s server causing to crash safari.
Meanwhile Apple works to resolve this, turn off the Safari suggestions restricting access to Apple servers. Go to Settings> Safari> Toggle OFF the Safari Suggestions.
l Clear History
Internet browsers save the cache images and pages in memory. When you launch Safari, this cache memory that might have any corrupt data in the memory is accessed. This result in safari not working or safari crashing. Give it a try by navigating to Settings> Safari > Clear History and Website Data. Try opening Safari and accessing website now.
l Check App Restrictions
Try checking whether Safari is in the restricted app list, this could be also the reason of Safari not working. To check, go to Settings > General > Restrictions > Toggle OFF Safari (If it is toggled ON). Otherwise, you could go for completely disabling restriction by tapping the first option of Disable Restriction that is followed by entering your pass code.
Quick Tips:
1. Try restarting your iPad or iPhone completely. Launch Safari and try to access the internet.
2. You could try restoring from earlier backup when Safari was working fine.
3. Last but not the least is the option of reset. It does overwhelm one a bit but it’s not the personal data but only the settings need to be reset to their factory state. In order to do so, Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. After you have restarted your iPad or iPhone back to the home screen, launch Safari again and check it the issue is resolved or not.
