Perhaps the most surprising change on iPhone X is that of the home button. On the previous iPhones, there were so many actions that could easily be done using just the home button, such as waking the phone up, activating Apple Pay, opening Siri, going to home screen, and other functions.
But how can you access these features easily now once the iPhone X home button is gone?
That is what this article will describe: The new iPhone X swipe gesture, and how to use gesture feature.
To compensate for the loss of home button, and the features associated with it, Apple introduced Swipe Gestures, which are arguably quicker and more effective than the home button.
This guide will enlist most of the available Swipe Gestures, how to use gesture, and their many different functions and uses. It will help you to quickly browse the iPhone using the new features, and manage your phone with the maximum productivity.
The following swipe gestures are available with their specific functions:
Wake Up
This feature, as the name implies, is the one to wake up the screen. While previously, the screen could have been opened by the home button, there are now 3 different ways in which you can open up the screen.
One way is to just simply tap the screen, while another is to tap the side button.
The third and perhaps the fastest way is to just raise the phone. The sensors on the iPhone detect that and the iPhone opens.
Switch Between Apps
Another important iPhone X gesture that you need to know about is switching between apps. There are two main ways to do that.
You can easily switch between apps by flicking your finger over the bottom edge and sort of quickly switch between the last-opened apps.
Another way is to swipe up from the bottom edge, and pause for a moment. This will enable all your apps that you opened recently and you can click on anyone you want to switch to.
Return to Home
As simple as the name, you just have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen in order to open the home screen.
Close Apps
To close apps, you need to open the app switcher, and hold on the application card until a red symbol appears in the corner. Tap that to close the application.
Reachability
As mentioned in the previous article, Reachability is a very useful feature. After enabling it, just swipe up from the bottom of the screen until a black area appears and the phone display shifts downwards.
Screenshot
To take the screenshot of the screen, just press the side button and volume up button together.
Access Siri
Siri, one of the most popular features of the iPhone can be easily accessed by long-pressing the side button, or just saying “Hey Siri"
We just listed out some of the most important and useful swipe gestures on iPhone X, and hope that you now understand how to use Gesture on iPhone X.
