Any shortcuts even in life make your work easier, and that is why you should learn various Mac keyboard shortcuts. With these, you will be saving time spent reaching out for your mouse, you work more efficiently, and you are more productive. Mac keyboards are a bit different from the usual keyboards, and the best thing is to familiarize you with it. Some of the difference is the naming with Mac having the Command and Function keys.

Taking Screenshots

Screen shots are a way of life, and you will need to take some while working. Cmd+Shift+3 or simply Command-Shift-3 takes a screen shot of your whole screen from top to bottom and from right to the left. While when you use Command + Shift + 4 or Cmd +Shift + 4, you get crosshairs.

Force Quit

At times, application such as Word may stop responding, and the only way out is to force quit. The best option is to use Command + Option +Esc. With this one of the Mac keyboard shortcuts, you will quite the non-responsive application.

Selecting All

You may need to edit a whole page full of text or files when working. It is time-consuming to select one by one, and this is where Cmd + A comes in handy.

Open a New and Recent Tab

While on the internet and you need to open a new tab, Command + T works best. To open the most recent tab on Chrome, use Command + Shift + T.

Cut, Copy and Paste

If you work in word most of the time especially for those that do article writing, probably one of the most important Mac keyboard shortcuts are the ones that allow you to cut, copy and paste. Press Command + X, Command + C and Command + V consecutively for this.

Find a Keyword or Document

When looking for a keyword or a document on your Mac computer, use Command + F. with this shortcut, a little window where you type what you are looking for pops up.

Quitting Any Program

In OS X, when you need to quit any program completely, use the Command + Q combination. Although you may click the X on the app menu, the easiest option is to use Command + Q.

Hiding Applications

When at work, you are not allowed to use some apps depending on the rules of your company. Command + Option +H and Command + H should be some of your most important Mac keyboard shortcuts. The former hides that specific app that you want while the latter conceals all other apps in the background.
