How to Use Reachability on iPhone X

Reachability in a nutshell is the feature in iPhone that allows you to use the large screen using just one hand. And this article will enlist the steps how to use reachability on iPhone X.

Reachability in a nutshell is the feature in iPhones that allows you to use the large screen using just one hand, as the iPhone reduces the screen size to half the screen (and displays the other half as black), and you can easily maneuver using just your thumb and one hand.

The reason was that iPhone had prided itself upon the fact that their phones could easily be managed through one hand, even though many other mobile manufacturers had started introducing phones with bigger screen sizes. However, with the introduction of iPhone 6, and 6S (with a 5.5 inch display), they could no longer advertise that fact, unless they added another feature. That feature was Reachability.

On iPhone 6, 6S and other supporting iPhones, Reachability feature could have been easily invoked by double-tapping the home button. However, iPhone X is devoid of the home button. There was panic regarding what would happen with the functions associated with the home button, such as Reachability.

However, the good news is that iPhone X Reachability is present, and this article will enlist the steps you need to take in order to turn on accessibility on iPhone X.

How to Turn on Reachability

To turn on Reachability on iPhone X, you need to complete the following steps:

Ÿ   Go to Settings

Ÿ   Touch the “General” option

Ÿ   Go to Accessibility

Ÿ   There will be a “Reachability” option. Toggle it to on.

Now, the option has been enabled. To use it, simply slide up the horizontal bar present at the bottom of the screen after opening any app. That's how to enable the Reachability option on iPhone X. It's different from the past, but it's only a few steps in total.

However, few friends have mentioned that it's difficult to get used to it if you have the habit of the Reachability option from previous iPhones.

On another note, I must also mention that iPhone 8, and 8S, which are also new phones released with iPhone X, contain the home button. Therefore, if you have a die-hard habit of using the Reachability option from the previous method, and then it might just be easier for you to buy either of them instead of iPhone X.

Hope that you've understood how to turn on accessibility on iPhone X, and can easily enable it. I agree that iPhone X Reachability is distinct and different; however, if you spend enough time with it, I'm sure that you'll soon get accustomed to it, and will be using it as second nature.
