How to Scan and Save Documents on iPhone or iPad in iOS 11

After the update of iOS 11, iPhone and iPad owners can easily scan documents and photos and save to iPhone or iPad just with the built-in Notes app. Here we are going to explain how to scan and save documents on iPhone and iPad with the Notes app.

In the past we had to download different apps from the App Store in order to scan documents which you want to be digitally saved, and that was pretty time-consuming. Now in iOS 11, iPhone and iPad owners can easily scan documents and photos and save to iPhone or iPad just with the built-in Notes app. The best part is that the Notes App automatically detects edges and corners, and crops the photo to only contain the paper that needs to be scanned. Even you can add a mark or effects to the photo in order to improve the quality of the photo. Here we are going to explain how to scan and save documents on iPhone and iPad with the Notes app.

How to Scan Documents with Notes App

To scan documents using the built-in Notes app, you need follow the steps:

Ÿ   Launch Notes app on your iPhone or iPad

Ÿ   Open an existing note or create a new one

Ÿ   Tap on plus symbol at the bottom

Ÿ   Choose “Scan Document”

Ÿ   Point the camera at the document

Ÿ   Tap the shutter button

Ÿ   In case the edge detection is off, you can drag the 4 corners to adjust the edge screen

Ÿ   Tap on “Keep Scan” to scan all the pages

After you’ve taken the photo, do the following steps to save the photo of the documents.

Ÿ   Tap on “Save” option at the bottom right

Ÿ   You can change the name of the document from the default if you want to, in order to make it more recognizable in the future. To do so, just tap on “Scanned Document” and modify it to whatever you want.

Ÿ   Tap on “Done” option at the top left.

You have successfully scanned a document as well as saved it on your iPhone or iPad. It wasn’t that difficult after all, right?
