Bulk Delete Emails
Once you open your Mail app and access the desired mailbox, the emails along with the attachments will be displayed. The most common and easiest method to delete the each email is by swiping it from right to left and you would see a number of buttons. If you swipe your finger completely across the mail in the similar motion, at once, then that specific email will be moved to the trash folder.
On the other hand, you cannot do the same if you want to delete more than one email at once. If you want to clear the whole folder, then you have to press the ‘Edit’ button present on the top right corner of the screen, an option of ‘Trash All’ will be displayed on the right bottom corner. However, you have to remember that you will lose all of your emails present in this folder, so use this button wisely. Press the same ‘Edit’ button and select the emails that you want to delete, and the desired emails will be moved to the trash folder.
Delete All Emails Permanently
You should know that the emails that you move to the trash are still present in the iPhone and can be restored again. In addition to that, after deleting your emails from the desired folder, you have to move out of the mailbox, where the rest of the other mailboxes are displayed. Once you move out of the mailbox, you would notice an ‘All Trash’ folder along with the icon of a trashcan displayed.
In order to delete all of your emails permanently, from both; your iPhone and from your email account, go to the ‘All Trash’ folder and you would see the emailed that you previously deleted. Similarly, there will be an ‘Edit’ button displayed on the upper right corner of the screen, and by pressing it, the iPhone will ask you for confirmation before it deletes all of your emails permanently.
If you have cleared all of your inboxes, then it is advised that you reboot your iPhone as it will allow your iPhone to clear the cache, in order to free up additional space.
