If you use iPhone or iPad, you may occasionally encounter the issue that "Cannot connect to App Store" when you're trying to access the App Store. Well, most of the time, this is due to the bad internet. You just need to make sure your network connection is active and try again. Sometimes, the error shows up for no reason. It always gets you frustrated. Good news is that there are really simple ways that can help you. Sometimes, a simple log out of App Store and log in does the trick and everything works fine once again. But if that doesn’t work for you, follow the steps below to get your App Store working again.
Check the Internet Connection
This is obvious the most common reason causing iPad and iPhone can't connect to App Store. So, the first thing you should do is to check your internet. It might be problem with the network if you're using 3G or 4G. You can try moving your location to get a better connection. And if you are using Wi-Fi, try to turn it off and using the cellular data instead. Just make sure the internet works.
Refresh the connection of App Store
If your internet connection is fine but you still can’t access to App Store, try clearing up all the cache by refreshing your App Store. Just quickly tap the Updates icon in the Updates tab of the App Store. Keep tapping until the it refreshes and hopefully, you will be connected once again. If it still doesn’t work try the next step.
Set Date and Time
The issue iPhone and iPad cannot connect to App Store may be caused due to incorrect date and time-zone. It’s necessary for applications to work correctly that their time zone should match that of the device. So, go to the Settings > General on your Apple device and under "Date & Time", check the "Set Automatically" if it is unchecked. This may solve your issue.
Force Quit App Store
If your internet connection is going strong and your date & time settings are all ok but you still can’t connect to the App Store, try force quitting the App Store. You can do it by opening the multitasking window by double pressing the Home button. When all the different tabs show up, slide the App Store right off the screen and it will shut down the application. Then reopen the App Store through your Menu and it should connect automatically.
Update Your Software
If all of the above methods don’t work then there is only one thing left for you to do. Make sure that your iOS up-to-date because this gets in the way of a lot of things and a lot of features malfunction because of it. Just go to Settings > General and if there is an update available, download and then install it.
