For those who want to transfer contacts to other location or make iPhone contacts backup, you can export iPhone contacts to a CSV (comma-separated values) file, because this format is very compatible.
You can store a large amount of data in a CSV file and you can open it with a spreadsheet app like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or Apple’s Numbers. Besides that, many apps like Outlook and Google Contacts allows you to import contacts via a CSV file.
Method 1: Export Contacts from iPhone Using iCloud
If you have synced your contacts to iCloud, then you can use iCloud to export all contacts or some of them from your iPhone. It is a very convenient way because you do it from any device you have.
Step 1. Open Web Browser and go to iCloud.com. The log in to iCloud with your Apple ID.
Step 2. Click on the Contacts app to load all your contacts.
Step 3. Click on the Settings icon at the bottom left of the webpage and click Select All option.
Step 4. Click on the Settings again and select on the Export vCard… option.
Step 5. A vCard file will now be saved to your computer. Then Go to an Online vCard Converter webpage to convert vCard file to a CSV file. You can configure the options as the screenshot below.
Method 2:Export Contacts from iPhone with IOTransfer
If you do not sync your contacts to iCloud or the internet is not currently available, then you can use a simple tool IOTransfer to help you export contacts to Excel. You can follow the steps below to get started.
Step 1. Download and install this software on your Windows PC.
Step 2. Launch IOTransfer and connect your iPhone to this PC via lightning cable.
Step 3. This program will scan your iPhone for contacts, music, photos, and videos and display them on the Home screen. Uncheck other options, leaving only contacts.
Step 4. Click Transfer to PC to export all contacts to your PC.
Step 5. Open the exported file location and you will see a CTT file and XML file.
Step 6. Then you can open an empty Excel file and go to Developer tab > Import to import the XML file. After that, you will get an Excel file with all your contacts info from your iPhone.
If you want to export part of your contacts from iPhone to an Excel, just go to the Manage tab and go the Contacts section from the left menu.
From there, you can easily select multiple contacts that you want to export by ticking the corresponding checkboxes. You can also add new contacts to iPhone from PC by clicking the Add New button.
Method 3: Export iPhone Contacts to CSV on Your iPhone
If you do not have a computer around, you can actually export your contacts from iPhone to an Excel file right on your iPhone. You only need to download a free app from AppStore. You can follow the step below to get started.
Step 1. Open AppStore and search for Contacts 2 XLS and then download this app from the results.
Step 2. Launch the app, after the welcome pages, tap Get Started.
Step 3. Tap on Backup Now and select a location to export this Excel file.
You can export to any cloud drive that you added in the Files app. After that, you get the Excel file on any device through the cloud drive.
