Easy Way to Clear iPhone Contacts from PC

I don’t know why Apple has not made any change to Contacts app for years. We still can only delete one contact at a time when we are going to delete some contacts, which will take a very long time. This is really clumsy and inconvenient. What should we do if we want to delete more than one contact at once?  This article will offer some methods to clear iPhone contacts from PC.

Method 1: Clear iPhone Contacts with IOTransfer

IOTransfer is an all-in-one contacts manager, which allows you to easily transfer, backup, and edit across iOS devices and PC. Surely it enables you to clear iPhone contacts from PC with a very few steps. Here we will show the easy steps to clear iPhone contacts from PC.

Step 1:  Free download IOTransfer, install and launch it.

Step 2: Connect your iPhone to the computer with a USB cable and accept the permission request popup on your iPhone.

Step 3: Click Manage Tab at the homepage and choose Contacts in the navigation pane on the right.

Step 4: Select the contacts you want to clear and then click Delete button. Click Yes on the popup to start the deletion.

Now you have deleted multiple unwanted contacts at once in a moment.

Method 2: Clear iPhone Contacts via iCloud

Though the Contacts app on iPhone can only delete one contact at a time, we can manage/delete contacts in bulk on iCloud.com if we backup our contacts to iCloud. This will help us save some time when we want to clear lots of contacts from iPhone. You can follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open Settings app on iPhone and tap [your name] as well iCloud. If you’re using iOS 10.2 or earlier, just tap iCloud in Settings.

Step 2: Find Contacts and enable the toggle next to the Contacts.

Step 3: Tap Merge on the popup. Then your contacts will be synced to iCloud.

Step 4: Start your Windows computer and open a browser. Go to iCloud.com and log in with your Apple ID. Then click Contacts in iCloud apps.

Step 5: Select All Contacts to view the saved contacts. Then press the Ctrl key and click the contacts you want to clear to select multiple contacts. After multiple contacts have been selected, please click Show Actions Menu icon at the left bottom of the page and then click Delete.

Step 6: Click Delete on the pop-up window to clear these contacts.

Both two methods allow you to clear iPhone contacts from PC at once. But the first method is recommended as it is easier and more efficient. The iCloud.com does not provide the option to select multiple contacts but only Select All. And we need to hold the Ctrl key and click the contacts with mouse to select at the same time. It is not convenient to scroll down if there are many contacts. Another disadvantage is that when you delete a contact, it’s deleted on every device that has iCloud Contacts turned on. If we delete a wanted contact by accident, it will be cleared on all devices with iCloud Contacts on. We will take effort to restore it. However, with IOTransfer, it offers mass selection by ticking the box besides the contact and doesn’t need to log in iCloud.com.
