How to Download Instagram Live Video in 2020

Are you a big fan of Instagram? Do you have trouble downloading Instagram live video? If your answers are both yes，then you’ve come to the right place. Instagram, since its launch in 2010, rapidly gained popularity with one million registered users in two months, 10 million in a year, and 1 billion as of May 2019. It has managed to engulf people of all ages to become a part of 100+ M daily active user communities. Every day, people try their best to create content, take photos, record videos to gain more free followers on Instagram.

With that out of the way, if you want to download the live video from Instagram for whatever reason, this tutorial will help you in a matter of minutes.

The very first and easy way to download the live video of others is by recording your screen. You can choose any screen recording apps. Just surf the play store and you surely will find one (Here I recommend Screen Recorder).

This method is very handy. You can also make your downloaded video better through a basic video editing app. But the only problem you may face is buffering. If you are in a poor network environment, the buffering will also be recorded, and it leaves you no choice but to crop out this part of it. 

There are many video downloaders, such as Video Downloader Professional, Free Online Video Downloader, Freemake Video Downloader. You might as well try IOTransfer. I have been used it for a long time and it meets my every need. It allows you to download live videos not only from Instagram but also from other social networking sites such as YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Moreover, it lets them easily transfer among iPod, iPad, iPhone, and computer. You can easily download any wanted live video by a few clicks.

There are two ways for you to choose by using this method: IOTransfer software or Online IOTransfer Instagram Downloader.

1. Steps for downloading Instagram live video through IOTransfer Software

Step 1 Free download and install IOTransfer.

Step 2 Log in your Instagram and copy the URL of the live video you want.

2. Steps for downloading Instagram live video through online IOTransfer Instagram Video Downloader

Step 1 Copy the URL of the live video you want.

Step 2 Open online IOTransfer Instagram Video Downloader, paste the link and click the “download to PC” button. 

Then you’ve got your wanted video on your computer.

Chrome Plugin also helps you download videos right on your desktop. This method is pure because you don’t need to download a separate app. But, it is not as simple as the preview two. So let’s see how it works step by step.

Step 1 Locate Save IG Live Story and add to your Chrome. Add the extension to Chrome.

Step 2 Log in to your Instagram account and click the extension icon on your Chrome.

The Instagram Live video replays will appear in the top, and then you can click on the corresponding Download button to download it. Of course, you can click the “Stories” to download other Instagram stories.

Step 3. In the next screen, you need to download video and audio of the Instagram live video story. After that, you can use iMovie or other video editing software to combine the video and audio together.  Or you can click the “Stories”, so you can directly download the live video from people you are following.

Note: You cannot choose one particular video to download through this method, as it will download one's postings all together in one zip file.
