With the year 2016 coming to an end, it must be noted that a lot of great games were produced in the year, as well as previously built games that gained fame. Hence, this article tries to list and briefly describe many of the best free iPhone games of 2016.

Suicide Squad is a truely free iOS game for iPhone and iPad. The game is based upon the movie Suicide Squad this year, and can certainly be regarded as one of the most fun game due to its relaxing nature. Best of all, it is free, so you can try it out without any risk.

Word With Friends is a modern transformation of the classic Scrabble game which is a popular word-building game around the world, and this rendition of the game by Zynga is an equally appealing game, with users from all over the word to add to the fun.

Temple Run was certainly a craze and a game that went viral upon its release. However, it is still popular today boasting a position among the top 10 most downloaded iOS games. The premise is simple, you have to run through a maze of puzzling road by flicking your finger, which is a lot more fun than it seems. Its sequel Temple Run 2 is also one of the best free iPhone games. Despicable Me and Subway Surfer are also similar games which are fun too and you can spend hours in the games without getting bored.

Lumino City is a clever and beautiful puzzle adventure game with wining a lot of awards. It's available on iPhone and iPad. The game is worth experiencing. You can train your mind with it.

Angry Birds is also an interesting and fun game series, available for the iPhone, that is much popular and consists of plenty of levels and puzzles which can be equally fun for a toddler as well as an adult. 

Clash of Clans is a game which is huge popular these days and has a database of more than thousands of players, and consists of making a base, defending it, as well as attacking other people. It is usually played within a “clan” which is a team, and is one of the best iOS games I’ve played.

Space Agency: Perhaps you’ve heard about the great game Kerbal Space Program, it’s a space rocket simulation game with detailed physics and simulations, this game is the almost-equal to that desktop program and needs you to launch a rocket into space, which can be quite fun.

Desert Golfing: A ridiculously simple golf game. Simple, but unquestionably a fun iOS game.

Fieldrunners 2: A tower defense is usually fun especially on an iPhone. Your job in the game is to prevent the attack from enemies of other side on the screen. You can earn corns to buy weapon in the game.

Moreover, the GTA series which were a hit on other platforms, are certainly only paid for the iPhone, but definitely the most fun realistic simulators on iPhone and would definitely recommend them if you are willing to spend a few bucks in order to get the best iPhone games collection.
