10 Common Apple Watch Problems & Fixes

Don’t let the Apple watch problems eat you up, we have gathered here the most common problems and their possible fixes.

Updated Dec 16,2016 | by Mike

Apple Watch is a multi-performance, touch screen watch designed by Apple Inc. It was originally launched on April 24th, 2015. Since then, Apple has been designing many WatchOS updates to fix bugs and problems.

It may be one of the most accessible smartwatches but even with a number of software updates, the Apple watch doesn’t work perfectly and continues to frustrate the owners.

If you have been suffering, don’t let the worries eat you up, we have gathered here the most common problems and their possible fixes.

1) Bluetooth problems:

You can try moving the Apple Watch to the other wrist. You can also fix it with a quick toggle on your phone. If it still doesn’t work, try re-pairing the Apple Watch to your iPhone. Make sure that your iPhone software as well as the Apple Watch software is up to date.

2) iPhone error connection:

To fix this error, try restart your iPhone. It is better to power off and then switch it on back again so that it is set approaching online back again to look for the Apple Watch renewed. Keep holding the power button until you see the option to turn it off.

3) Apple Watch battery drainage:

Solve this problem by

(i) Limiting notifications: Notifications light up the screen and cause you to use the watch. Limiting them will improve battery life.

(ii) Using Bluetooth: When you are not using Bluetooth, it switches to wifi which is not power friendly. (iii) Switch off heart rate monitoring:

You can power off the heart rate sensor during workouts to improve battery life. (iv) Reboot: Try rebooting the device. This simple solution tends to solve a lot of problems.

4) Bad iPhone battery life:

If it is the case, go to Settings > Battery on your iPhone and see if the Apple Watch app is top of the Battery Usage list. You need to restart the phone if this happens. If this does not do the trick, try pairing the devices again. If it still doesn’t help, make sure the softwares for both the devices are up to date.

5) Doesn’t update:

It has now become so common problem than Apple itself has published official steps charting what you should do.Try restarting the Apple Watch and the iPhone paired to it then try updating the watch. If the install won't start, open the Watch app on your iPhone, tap the My Watch tab > General > Usage > Software Update. Delete the update file and try to download and re install the update.

6) Doesn’t turn on:

You can try a force restart by holding the Digital crown and side button for 10 seconds.

7) Crashes:

If it’s unresponsive, try restarting the device. If it doesn’t work, make sure it is up to date with the latest software.

8) Notifications don’t appear:

Consider removing the passcode, or tightening the watch band. If Do Not Disturb is the offender, you can turn this off by swiping up on the watch face, swiping to the Settings and tapping the crescent moon icon.

9) Won’t charge:

If it’s a brand new watch, make sure there is no plastic attached to it. Try restarting it or connecting it to a laptop or any other source. If nothing works, try opening the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and go to General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

10) Slow performance:

Make sure that both the devices have the latest software updates. Slow performance could be due to number of heavy apps. Try deleting applications that you do not use.
