Apple Virtual Reality Release Date Fast-Approaching

For over a decade, Apple has had a dedicated team that is experimenting and testing different aspects of virtual reality. There are so many patents that the company has filed, and with the popularity of augmented and virtual reality hitting the market, there could be a product being released soon or at least some features that are related to Apple virtual reality. 

Apple Virtual Reality Secret Team

It is believed that Apple has a secret unit of research experts who have been hired and their sole responsibility is to experiment the Apple VR and AR technologies. The team that is made up of hundreds of employees is trying to find ways in which the emerging VR and AR technologies can be integrated in the future products made by Apple. In the same effort, there have been an increase in the Apple VR sector, and it has already acquired a number of AR/VR organizations, which is a strong indicator that something is in the making. 

Possibilities for Apple VR

There are so many possibilities of the Apple virtual reality and augmented reality technology that can be explored. This can be integrated with Snapchat camera filters, maps, virtual 3D interfaces and the virtual reality headsets for the iPhone among other apps. Some of the products that are keen on these technologies include Microsoft HoloLens and Oculus Rift. This is one of the key inspirations that may see the launch of Apple virtual reality pretty soon. 

Prototype Apple VR Headset

Believable rumors indicate that Apple is set to release a prototype Apple virtual reality headset. The company is working on this product, but the details of the project are a big secret. It has not come out clear to what extent the Apple VR will go; whether it is full virtual reality to compete with Oculus Rift or a lighter augments reality like the one used by Microsoft HoloLens. However, you can rest assured that Apple VR will explore all the possible avenues. 

Smart Glasses

There is also a rumor that has leaked that Apple is in the process of developing smart glasses. This will be used to connect remotely to the iPhone in the same manner as the Apple Watch. The smart glasses will display information and images using augmented reality, which sounds pretty much like the Google Glass. This set of technology is speculated to be launched in 2018, at the very earliest. For the smart glasses project, Apple has partnered with Carl Zeiss, and this is one of the biggest indicators that Apple virtual reality is just about to hit the markets. 

Even if the Apple VR headset or smart glasses to not pan out as expected, there are so many other avenues that the company can explore to bring these technologies into daily use.
